Alec Baldwin Explodes at Trump Impersonator Over ‘Rust’ Shooting Joke

Trump impersonator Jason Scoop claimed Hilaria Baldwin chased him in heels after he provoked her husband, Alec Baldwin, with insensitive jokes. The confrontation escalated when Alec Baldwin allegedly threatened Scoop. Was Alec Baldwin justified in his angry response to jokes about the “Rust” shooting?

A Confrontation Years in the Making

Trump impersonator Jason Scoop deliberately targeted Alec Baldwin outside his New York City home, citing revenge for Baldwin’s portrayal of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. The encounter quickly turned hostile as Scoop, dressed as Trump, mockingly offered Baldwin a “pardon” for the 2021 “Rust” shooting that resulted in cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’s death.

Baldwin responded with fury, allegedly threatening the impersonator with physical violence if cameras weren’t present. “If this camera wasn’t here, I’d snap your f–king neck in half and break your f–king neck right now,” Baldwin reportedly told Scoop during the heated exchange.

Hilaria’s High-Heeled Pursuit

According to Scoop, the confrontation took an even more bizarre turn after cameras stopped rolling. He claims Hilaria Baldwin chased him down the street in high heels, attempting to grab his phone in the process.

“There’s a part nobody saw because the camera was off,” Scoop told TMZ on Tuesday. “His wife chased me around the block after,” he added, expressing disappointment that his cameraman failed to capture the alleged pursuit on video.

Motivations and Aftermath

Scoop openly admitted he intended to provoke Baldwin with his Trump impersonation and references to the “Rust” shooting incident. The impersonator claimed he couldn’t be held accountable for his words while in character, despite acknowledging he went “over the top” with his taunts.

Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter case related to the “Rust” shooting was dismissed in July 2024, but the incident remains a sensitive topic for the actor. An insider emphasized the Baldwins were primarily concerned about their children’s privacy and security, noting Alec repeatedly asked Scoop to leave their residential area.

Scoop later reflected on the confrontation, saying, “At one point, I definitely thought he was going to physically hit me. 100%.” The incident underscores the complex relationship between celebrities, public provocation, and personal boundaries in an era of viral content and immediate social media distribution.
