According to Jordan, Bratt met with White House officials multiple times in late 2021, during the same period when Trump’s lawyers were negotiating with the National Archives about presidential records.
Most concerning is a March 31, 2023, meeting between Bratt, White House Counsel’s Office Deputy Chief of Staff Caroline Saba, and FBI Special Agent Danielle Ray for what was described as a “case-related interview.” This meeting occurred just nine weeks before Smith indicted the president on charges related to classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago.

“Arctic Frost” Investigation Reveals Biden White House Involvement
Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson have released additional records from whistleblowers regarding the FBI’s “Arctic Frost” investigation, revealing direct involvement from Biden White House officials. The emails show the White House Counsel’s Office, specifically then-Deputy White House Counsel Jonathan Su, assisted the FBI in securing government cell phones used by Trump and Pence.
According to the senators’ findings, these phones were obtained in May 2022, before Trump was formally added as a subject of the investigation. An email exchange shows Criminal Chief John Crabb asking Su to “coordinate with Tim Thibault (who’s copied on this email) about picking up the telephones,” demonstrating direct communication between Justice Department officials and the White House.

Additional Concerns About Investigative Integrity
Jordan has previously raised concerns about Bratt’s conduct in the Trump investigation that extend beyond the White House meetings. The committee alleges Bratt improperly pressured a lawyer representing a Trump employee to induce cooperation with the prosecution against the president.
According to the allegations, Bratt referenced the lawyer’s application for a judgeship on the D.C. Superior Court, implying it “would be received more favorably if his client cooperated with the prosecution of President Trump.” The House Judiciary Committee has requested all documents and communications related to Bratt’s White House meetings and any discussions about investigations or prosecutions of Trump.
Senators Grassley and Johnson have requested all DOJ and FBI records related to the Arctic Frost investigation by April 21, specifically focusing on communications with Biden White House officials. The Department of Justice and FBI have not yet publicly responded to these requests as investigations into potential political influence on federal law enforcement continue.
